Next year the Avon Free Library will lose $11,100 in funding from an expiring PILOT agreement with the Town and Village of Avon. We are requesting a funding increase in that exact amount. This is not a library budget increase. Please vote in the Avon Central School Budget vote this Tuesday, May 17th from Noon to 9 PM in the Middle School Auditorium.
The Avon Free Library is sad to share news of the recent passing of former library clerk and library lover, Pamela Bergner Leonard. Pamela will be remembered for her love of all things British, cuisine, her pets, and her sons and grandsons. Her knowledge of British literature (especially mysteries), television, and movies was a treasure to our patrons and coworkers. Upon her retirement from the library, she immediately joined The Friends of the Avon Free Library as a board member, continuing to support the institution she so valued. There are currently no plans for a public remembrance. However, as per Pamela’s wishes, the family requests memorials be made to the Avon Free Library by sending donations directly to the library or on the donation link on our website: https://avonfreelibrary.org/donate/
The Avon Free Library has a limited supply of free COVID-19 tests to distribute. We will issue one box per person in a household on a first-come-first-serve basis until supplies are gone. Stop by our main service desk to get yours.
The Library Board of Trustees will hold virtual annual and monthly board meetings on Monday, March 28, 2022 at 6:30 PM via Zoom.
If you wish to attend as a member of the public and/or request the documents for review, please notify the director, Rebecca Budinger-Mulhearn, via email at email@example.com or by calling the library at 585-226-8461 in order to receive the Zoom invitation. Thank you.
