Got Card?

September 14, 2026

September is Library Card Sign-Up Month!

Chances are, if you’re reading this, you either have a card through OWWL or sure would like one!

Who wouldn’t want to support their local libraries by getting a free ticket to movies, music, games, books, and more?

Someone that’s definitely not reading this, that’s who.

So don’t be that someone!

Swing by Avon Free Library, or really any of your local libraries, and sign up for a card through OWWL!

For those who are “out of system,” such as our pals in Monroe or Steuben counties, there’s no fee to grab a card from us.

You want to hear about the perks, right? Okay, here they are:

PERKS!

  1. Kanopy
    1. A streaming service that includes such bangers as “The Big Short,” “Grey Gardens,” and “Godzilla.”
  2. Libby
    1. Our digital library service that is compatible with Kindle, phones, tablets, computers…if it’s got a screen, chances are you can read a book or a magazine on it!
    2. Additionally, through signing up with an OWWL card, you’ll be able to tap into the shared resources of the Southern Tier (STLS) and Finger Lakes Library Systems digital catalogs.
  3. A cool blue card that can be held out physically AND can be added to your phone digitally through the OWWL app

So…what are you waiting for?
